The Systems Validation, Test and
Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) is the central focus for integration, test
and validation activities within IDS. More than 1000 employees of SVTAD provide
the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution
of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies,
processes, tools and techniques. SVTAD employees are involved in all aspects of

Opportunities currently exist within SVTAD's Air
Defense Systems Department, ADS on the
Phased Array Tracking to Intercept
of Target (Patriot)
Program. These positions are
located in the New England area.
The ADS Department provides expertise in the
integration, and sell off (testing) for various air defense programs within IDS.
ADS Engineers are involved in all aspects of
the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) cycle.
ADS engineers have ownership authority to ensure that individual items
are integrated and perform as expected as well as ensuring that the system can
be sold off concluding the various verification methods chosen and pre-approved
by the customer. Most system tests
will be conducted in the ADS Department’s HWIL facilities.
These facilities include integrated tactical hardware, simulated, and
emulated for data collection to verify the systems capabilities and support the
ultimate sell off of the PATRIOT Systems.
Joining
this highly visible team and performing technically challenging assignments
which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our alleys war
fighters. Your work will culminate in the integration and test support and
fielding of the PATRIOT defense systems and needed to defend the battlefield,
valuable US assets, allies and the homeland from attacks by conventional and
nuclear ballistic missile threats.

Software Engineer II (Salary 95k – 110k)

Test Software Development Engineer –
Senior Software Engineer II
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Opportunities currently exist within SVTAD's Test Development Department, in the
Software Test Development Section. The primary responsibilities will
include the development of software test programs, utilities, test instrument
control software, and graphical user interfaces on varied commercial and
Raytheon developed testers across varied operating systems and hardware
platforms. This is an excellent position for a strong programmer who also has
test experience and a desire to work with both software and hardware.|
You will be joining a diverse project team for the design and development of
test equipment and test solutions for testing radar, sonar, communication,
missile, combat control systems, subsystems and components for various programs
within IDS. These products encompass Analog, RF, Microwave, Acoustic, High
Power, and Digital Electronic technology. Test Development engineers are
involved from the beginning of product design as a concurrent engineering
effort, continuing into supporting engineering design verification testing,
production test and final system level verification and sell-off; including
in-plant or field testing. Typical test solutions include simulation,
stimulation and data acquisition capability to provide stimulus and response
test environments for verifying functional performance. Typical test systems
encompass Hardware In the Loop Stimulators, Custom Automatic Test Equipment,
Commercial Automatic Test Equipment, High Power, Mixed-Signal, Digital and
Environmental Stress Screening systems, mechanical holding fixtures, adapters,
and interface cabling and harnessing.
Please note that the primary location of this position may exist at either
our Tewksbury, Andover, or Sudbury Massachusetts facility.
Basic Qualifications:
• B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science or technically related field. May substitute
educational requirements with additional years of experience.
• 5+ years experience programming in C
• 5+ years experience in Software Test Development, using commercial test
equipment
Desired Qualifications:
LabWindows, LabVIEW, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft .NET and TestStand
development environments experience
Operating system proficiency including Windows, Linux, UNIX
Analog and RF system design knowledge
Project lead experience
Use of Commercial Test and Measurement Equipment
CMMI and 6 Sigma knowledge
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
