Systems Engineer (salary range $120 – 130k)
Job Description:
The Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS) Department is an organizational unit
of SADID with the charter to provide integrated Air and Missile defense
architectures and advanced system design in support of the IDS Air and Missile
Defense Business Area. Competencies in the IADS Department include: Battle
Management, Command and Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence
(BMC4I) system architecture and design, air defense mission operations and
planning, communications systems expertise, track / resource management
expertise, system performance analysis, and operational test preparations,
support, and evaluation. The Department is based in the IDS Headquarters
facility in Tewksbury, MA, with supporting personnel in the Integrated Air
Defense Center in Andover, MA and the Missile Defense Center in Woburn, MA.
The IADS department is in need of a Principal Systems Engineer to lead a
technical team in the design and development of the BMC4I architecture and
implementation for one of a variety of Air Defense systems. Individual will be
responsible for the BMC4I architecture design, development, implementation,
integration, and performance assessment. This individual should have experience
with communications and networking systems, as well as track management and
battle management algorithms and implementations. Also desired is a background
in radar and weapon systems, and experience with the application of these
principles to BMC4I algorithm design. Group management skills, leadership
skills, and strong communication skills are required.
Basic Qualifications:

Eight years of Science or Engineering work related experience

Experience with Air and/or Missile Defense Weapon Systems, specifically
Patriot
-
Experience with complex system architectures (such as BMC4I systems)
-
Experience with algorithms, operation, analysis, software, hardware,
integration of large complex systems

DoD Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
-
Highly motivated individual with strong technical and analytical skills

Detail-oriented self-starter that can effectively function independently or
in a team environment

Good verbal and written skills -- clear, concise, and effective communicator

Required Education:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, or
relevant discipline (math, physics or business)
Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrable experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose
of developing creative solutions to technical and program problems.

Qualified Six Sigma Specialist or Expert (or equivalent experience)

Demonstrated Program Management and related business acumen including:
demonstrated proficiency in Earned Value Management or related processes
with demonstrated adherence to cost and schedule.

Demonstrated understanding of Risk & Opportunity management and how it
supports development and drives cost position

Demonstrated experience with Raytheon’s Integrated Product Development
System (IPDS) or similar business processes

Experience / knowledge of systems architecture for real time applications,
surveillance, guidance, engagement decision, weapons assignment, command &
control, maintenance & diagnostics, and trainers.

Experience with the constructs of system architecture

Experience with Tactical Data Information Links

Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) programs
